Mauro Arbiza Fernandez was born on September 21st 1968 in Uruguay. From a very young age he felt the inclination toward the plastic arts and in 1983 he began to study painting with Professor Carlos Caffera, continuing until 1985.
His works follows the "great proportional scale" in search, of what the artist describes, as the absolute shape, which results (regardless of one's perspective) in a perfect harmony between volume and line.
Besides developing his own sculptures, Arbiza has been studying and working in Miami besides a renowned Cuban Sculptor, Manuel Carbonell in the creation of an important collection of bronze sculptures, a task which has lead him to be recognized as a direct disciple of the master sculptor, who in turned studied under Jose Sicre, a former student of Bourdelle, Rodin’s favourite disciple.
In the year 2000, Arbiza published his book "Interrealismo- Arte de la Nueva Era" (Inter-realism- Art of a New Era), which proposes a vision of the artist and his works from an artistic perspective by which he brings in spirituality and energy into his works. In this line of thought, in 2007 he founded the Inter-realist Movement.
In the last 4 years he has participated in various international One Man Shows and collective exhibits including Canada, China, Spain, United States, Portugal and Puerto Rico. In addition, his works are also found in important collections in Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany and Peru as well as in his native Uruguay.
During the last year, Arbiza has developed a new sculptural project known as "Esculturas Flotantes" (Floating Sculptures), it consists of a series of sculptures made of fiberglass attached to an anchor system which allows the sculpture to float completely over the water allowing the spectator to fully appreciate the sculpture in its entirety.
Today his works is represented worldwide by Trazos Gallery, Shangai, China and Beaux Arts Gallery, Miami, Florida. Due to talent and creativity of Arbiza, the promotion which has been put forward by the galleries directors Alvaro Cirillo and Ricardo J. González III, has resulted in a worldwide success which is now evident in North America, South America, Europe and Asia.
